Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell has been a chef, television presenter in the US as well as an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She's the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host with spiky blond locks and a lively personality, explains how to cook restaurant-style dishes in your home with simple techniques. Chef Burrell worked for a time in New York at top restaurants and studied the Italian culinary practices and the environment. She also competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. While growing up in the Upstate New York area, Chef Burrell discovered a love for food and cooking early on. She pursued her passion for food and restaurant by enroling in The Culinary Institute of America following her graduation in English and Communications from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. She states "I loved being a Culinary Institute of America (CIA) student. I loved every minute of it." It was difficult to master how to do, or even work hard enough. After graduation, Burrell spent one year learning at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as in Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, which is a Michelin-starred establishment. Burrell gained a greater knowledge of Italian culinary and cultural traditions throughout her time in Italy and this has affected her cooking style. Burrell is a well-known ambassador to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board, which helps children with obstacles. As a guest speaker and mentor, she travels around the United States to discuss her passion for cooking as well as her professional career. Anne has, through her whole experience in the kitchen, has declared that it is a privilege to be in a position to be able to share this love of food with other people.
